Up for bid are seeds of Smilax pumila. It is an evergreen perennial groundcover that gets great green foliage that is slightly mottled (variegated) with lighter green, and while the flowers are small and white, they develop into attractive bright orange/red berries. There are many species of Smilax, some of which are pests, but this one is very well behaved, essentially spineless, and very attractive as an evergreen groundcover for shady or partially shaded areas. These beautiful plants are hardy to USDA zone 6, possibly colder, and they grow best in full shade to part shade. They would make excellent additions to your rare plant collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard.
