Up for bid is a starter plant of the beautiful and delicious Purple Pepino Melon. These plants produce nice green leaves, and this variety produces striped purple fruit of decent size that are very juicy and delicious. While these are called Melons and taste much like a melon, they are actually members of the same family as Tomatos and Peppers. Typically these plants can reach heights of around 4 to 6 feet but they can grow larger but can also be maintained at smaller sizes, and they make excellent container plants. They are typically hardy to USDA zone 8, although some sources claim they are less hardy than that - we will be testing these here in zone 8 to see how hardy they really are. These plants will make a great statement in your garden, and they also make great indoor plants, they are a very popular houseplant.
