Amaranthus Pygmy Torch Amaranthus Hypochondriacus is a bushy, ornamental annual plant. This type of Amaranthus is commonly called Prince-of-Wales Feather and Prince's Feather, and Amaranthus Pygmy Torch can be easily started from seeds. Amaranthus grows in clumps producing showy foliage with dark-green to purple leaves and large upright spikes of burgundy-red flowers. The exotic looking flowers appear from mid-summer until frost.
