An easy to grow, evergreen shrub with a pyramidal form. Japanese holly has small oval shaped serrate leaves. The leaves on the new growth are a medium green color then turn dark green with age. The foliage is thick and dense and can be sheared into a formal pyramid. When planting steeds holly keep it at least 3 to 4 feet away from sidewalks and foundations. It can be used as a hedge row, Planted on either side of an door, planted in between windows to add some height, or in an island bed A shapely hedge or foundation plant. Also Great for use as a specimen plant or in container gardening
